BOOKS

The Least of the Least: From Crime to Christ
by Wyatt Allen

When [God] found me as a devil-worshiping, death-metal, head-banging, suicidal fifteen-year-old and broke through the strongholds of my life, it would never be the same again.

Convicted: The First Time Sent Him to Prison. The Second Time Set Him Free
by Melanie Scherencel Bockmann

It was in solitary confinement that he first tasted true freedom, first felt that there was any purpose in his life. One copy of The Living Bible in the hands of this very bored teenager had an effect that no one in Andrew's life would have ever predicted.

Where Darkness Reigned
by Greg Emelander

This is the story of a man who, though filled with fear and despair, found freedom and happiness in the most unlikely place—prison. Greg’s life is proof that the past does not have to dictate the future.

Life Without Parole
by Rick Fleck

Nothing in Rick Fleck's childhood had suggested that he would end up in prison for life on a murder charge. Rick was a third-generation Adventist. He grew up living close to nature on a farm near Canadian Union College in Alberta, Canada. His parents sacrificed to send him to Christian schools. He was outgoing, popular, and a star athlete. He was sentenced to life without parole, and has been incarcerated at the High Desert State Prison in Susanville, California since 1993.

Knowing Jesus
by Judith L. Mackie

Get to know Jesus the Word of God through the written Word of God. He wants you to know Him. The more you know Him the more you will love Him. In Him are peace, comfort, hope and courage for all who are willing to spend the time and the effort needed to truly know Him.

Inmate Response

"I would really like to thank you for this study book, Knowing Jesus. It was such a blessing. After I got it I did one study Friday night to start the Sabbath and one during the Sabbath. I also wrote a short prayer. It really seems to help me out. To be honest I enjoy it so much I'm asking in advance that if you make another study book to put me on the list. The thing I like the most is the fact that it is doesn't tell us how we should interpret the word, it makes us ask for guidance from the Holy Spirit and also read the word."  FD

The Value of One
by Sharon Dalton Williams

Devotional thoughts using Bible stories to show the value God places on each person. One person can be an agent of change in the world.

The Power of the Word: When God Turns the Impossible into Possible
by Sharon Dalton Williams

The creative power of the word of God caused all creation to come into existence. That same creative power is in the Bible we have, which is why the Bible is the only book that has the power to change lives. “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12) When we teach others the Word of God or put the Bible into someone’s hands, we are helping to fulfill the Great Commission because we are sharing the words of Jesus that are full of creative (and recreative) power. And, when God’s Word goes forth, things happen.
